4Good product.Feb 16, 2006
By PENNAME101
Thought I'd try this out after seeing it on TV. For the price, it's a bargain compared to the same product by other companies. Didn't have the same problem as the other reviewer about the handle. It isn't as flimsy as he makes it out to be. I can see how it would fall apart, because the copper wires are glued into the base of the wooden handle. However, the wires seem tightly embedded within the handle. Plus, the wires are thick and the wooden handle itself seems durable for the product I received. The copper is a bit cold to the touch, so you may want to warm it up before placing on your scalp. Overall, I think it does massage the scalp well, albeit ticklish at times. I suppose it can be a head scratcher too but the ends are rounded, so you won't hurt yourself.

3Use your head when purchasing this itemSep 23, 2005

The price was right but the quality poor. Forget the wood handle. It is cheap. The ends of the massager weren't stamped properly and I had to file them down to keep from scratcing my head.

2Tingler knockoff isn't quite as tingly!Aug 08, 2006
By Michaela S. "Professional outlier"
What's the deal with the rough-hewn copper balls on the end of the copper wires? They are scratchy. The ends of the Tingler are lacquer-dipped and sliiiiiiiide through your hair.

I knew I should've gone with the Tingler, but I thought, how different can two head massagers be? Apparently, pretty different.

Oh, here's a simple trick to determine whether you would like a head massager. Are you one of those people who loves having their hair played with? You will love having a (properly constructed) head massager. If not, don't bother leaving a bad review, because we told you you wouldn't like it...

1DisappointingJul 14, 2006
By Mrsgoldielocks "Mom to 4 amazing kids"
This is an item I have wanted for many years. I finally purchased this one and I was very disappointed. The quality is poor. There are balls attached at the ends of the wires but they are not soldered properly therefore catches and pulls the hair shaft. Any sort of relaxation is quickly hampered by the pain of hair snagging. I am sure someone makes a nicer quality head massager and with a better construction it would certainly make for a relaxing experience.

5Wonderful if you know how to use itMay 10, 2006

I love this thing and I think that the reviews that state it not feeling as great as described is due to set up error... The product comes with the tines flat and you have to rotate them out around the handle so that it will go around your head. The MOST important part is to ADJUST the diameter of the tines! If you leave it as is it will be far too tight (my head is too small for baseball hats and it's still too tight) and will feel scratchy. The idea is to get the tines so that they only LIGHTLY expand over your scalp. Let me tell you, it's an amazing feeling. It's a cheapo product because it's a simple product - you don't need anything fancy! The only way to make it better is if it came with a person to use it on you (it feels much better when not self-administered). Give it a try, you can thank me after you get it.
